Halloween: Zombily Grotesque

Posted in General (Tags: , )

Freyja’s a little too young for Halloween I think. To be fair, I was extremely tempted to get her a mega-cute outfit for it, but apart from photographic evidence, she wouldn’t know what was happening. We don’t really know that many children/families who are massively into the whole shebang, so we thought that we may as well just save the money.

I do plan on having a lovely Halloween party next year though – invite all the parents we know and get all the kids to dress up. It would be fantastic, and I intend to make this happen.

This year, my mum was visiting for the Halloween weekend. I was working on the Friday and Saturday evenings, but we planned to go out on the Sunday. The pub where I work were doing a Halloween party, so I decided I was going to make lots of effort and dress up and scare people. Something I haven’t done for a long time. Dressing up, that is. I scare people regularly.

My plan was to go as a zombie schoolgirl. What can be better than dressing up as an undead 15 year old? I never intended for my outfit to look so awesome, but with a great deal of fluke, and not much talent, I managed to muster a pretty awesome outfit. My two bezzie mates looked fantabulous too.

James didn’t need to dress up – He’s scary enough as it is (love you really).

And before you start getting concerned, I hid from Freyja during the getting ready process. I think her eyes are a little two young to be witnessing her mummy looking so grotesque.

It was a brilliant night, albeit a bit on the quiet side (most people were out on the Saturday) but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The contact lenses made the outfit I think – although they were a bugger to get in. Seeing in them wasn’t really a problem, except the glare was horrendous, but I coped. I did dispose of them before the end of the night though – finding out the next day at work, that one found its way into the glass wash machine. Impressive!

A good night was had by all, and by the time my baby girl saw me again, I was back to my normal looking self without a hint of fake blood. Apart from the bit I found on my neck the next day in the middle of Blockbuster. It’s a good look!
