There’s Millions of Reasons…
Posted in General
Did anyone else think that they song for Toys R Us was “There’s millions of Geoffries all under one roof…” – I did, and I questioned how they would fit millions of giraffes under one roof, and how people would manoeuvre around them. Not to mention where all the toys would go, and what the point in having millions of Geoffries would be. Which is why it makes a lot more sense for it to be “reasons” and not “geoffries” – but who knows what the real lyrics are.
Anyway, I’m obsessed with Toys R Us. I could have spent hours in there today. I love toys, and now I have a daughter, I have a perfect excuse to wander down the aisles looking at all the awesome goodies.
I bought a few bits whilst in there today. Mainly for our niece and nephew. But I did spend a while hovering around the Lego, wishing I had it all to build (and then pack back up and get my money back…)
Edit: Does anyone actually know the lyrics to this? Since writing this post, I’ve questioned whether the lyrics I think are even correct. Is it “There’s millions says Geoffrey all under one roof?” or “There’s millions of debris all under one roof?” or “There’s millions of dead fish all under one roof?” – Does anyone even know? The woman singing this song should really learn how to annunciate things.

I used to think they said Millions of Geoffries as well!! It’s only been since they re-released the adverts last year, (and was singing along to the song) that my husband pointed out they actually say Millions SAYS Geoffrey… haha! I like sticking to my original lyrics though…

There’s a magical place
We’re on our way there
With toys in their millions
All under one roof
It’s Called Toys’R'Us!Soon after bedtime
When dark nightime falls
Geoffrey and helpers stock up on the shelves
From ceiling to floorBooks Boardgames and Bikes
Teddies, Puppets and Dolls
Bats, Spaceships and TrikesThere’s Millions says Geoffrey
All under on roofIt’s Called Toys’R'Us! Toys’R'Us!
Toys’R'Us! Toys’R'Us!

I totally thought it said Geoffrey’s, it kind of made sense. Do they still have Geoffrey as their mascot? I remember when I went to New York a few years back and we went into the Toys R Us in Times Square, there was a guy dressed in a Geoffrey outfit and he was terrifying.
I took Eliza into Toys R Us on festival park this morning and she loved it, I managed to hold back and only came out with 3 things. xxx
