Metal Mummy

Freyja has always been pretty good when it comes to naps. She always has a couple of hours in the middle of the day. I take her upstairs, she’s hugging her muslin. She has her milk. She gives me a kiss and then pretty much throws herself into her bed and quietly sleeps for 2 hours, give or take.

That is, until today. She goes upstairs, hugging her muslin, gives me a kiss, throws herself into bed and then plays.

What’s changed? She’s not even 2 yet, and she needs her nap because she is horrible without one. We’ve been out, had fresh air – yet she fights her sleep. She plays nicely in her cot, so I leave her there to see if she settles off. But she isn’t doing that.

And regardless of whether she’s moody or not for the rest of the afternoon, it puts me in a sulk because I don’t get any time to myself! Dagnammit!
