The Gallery: Children

I can’t wait to see the other entries for this prompt over at Sticky Fingers – so many different interpretations are possible, but I don’t have the energy (I have a crappy cold) to think about any other way of reflecting the prompt other than photographs of my own child. And her friends. Hence, children.

When Freyja was born, we lived a bit of a distance away from other people. My friends didn’t have children. I was a little isolated and that meant Freyja didn’t have anyone to socialise with. I’ve never been one for play groups or baby groups. I don’t like the cliques and I don’t like being the newbie. You wouldn’t have thought this loud mouthed, sociable extrovert would be scared of big groups would you? But I am. So I didn’t go.

When we moved back to Portsmouth, everything changed. I found Netmums and it’s been a saving grace. I have met some absolutely fabulous people through that site – some of which will be friends for life. My friend had a baby too and now we live close together, we get to meet up more often. Freyja has a social life, and so do I. All is good.

So these photos are some of Freyja and some of our new found friends. Photos to say thank you to some of the fabulous people in my life – new, and old.

That is so sweet…she looks so sociable with so many little friends! I too hate big groups and have never ventured into the play group scene…I might check out Netmums. xxx

It’s been fabulous for me, because you can just meet up with one at a time – you can introduce yourself and people will contact you, add you to FB and meet up. I have made some fab friends via that site. It’s been brilliant for me xx

    *epic cuteness*

I am also afraid of big groups and never quite made it to Tea & Tots…

Church is mine and Tori’s playgroup – it’s great, I get to decorate biscuits and colour in every week whilst Tori wanders round chasing the other Smalls who also have no interest in the biscuits/colouring. I’m sure the ‘Little group’ of junior church only exists for the mums and leaders….

Awww what a lovely selection of photos and I love the way you have set them out. Looks like Freyja finds itneasy to make new friends which is a great attribute to have.

What a wonderful social life your babies have. Because of their prematurity and consequential chronic lung disease we have had to isolate ourselves through the winter. I am so looking forward to getting out and about in the spring and making some friends, for me and the babies. Has been a long few months.
