Flashback Friday: Holidays
Posted in General
I can’t believe it’s almost April. That not only means it’s almost Freyja’s 2nd birthday, but it also means it’s nearly May.
Which means our first holiday away with my mum. We’re going to Olu Deniz, in Turkey, for an all inclusive week away. I can’t wait! It will be “interesting” on the plane for 4 hours with a 2 year old, but there’s enough of us to handle it.
We’re really looking forward to the break. I’ve only ever been to Kusadasi in Turkey, so it will be lovely to see a different area.
Holidays are the inspiration for this weeks Flashback Friday (I’m impressed I actually managed to find time to do it!) – This is a picture of me, on holiday with my mum (taking the photo), my grandparents and my nan’s sister. We went to Rhodes – I *think* I was about 3, so 1987 (ish).
I don’t remember much about this holiday, but I know how hard my mum worked to get us a holiday each year, and I’m eternally grateful for that. I hope I can provide the same for Freyja as she grows up.

Bless…how adorable and special! Well done you for getting away with Freyja as well. We took Little Miss to America (8hrs) when she was 6 months old and 18 months old…we survived! ;)
Thanks so much for linking up for Flashback Friday!

You’re right, mum’s had to really work hard to get the annual break and they managed it too!
Lovely photo. Have a great time in Turkey, I’ve never been there…one day I will!

I went to Olu Deniz over 20yrs ago , the lagoon was lovely. Having just experienced a 4hr flight with a(very almost) 2yr old I would recommend lots of snacks, toys, games, books and change of clothes (for yourself – Jack was sick for 2 hours of the return flight on my husband!). At least she’ll have her own seat and you’ll have a great time once you’re there
